Puig joins Olara perfumery: Jean Paul Gaultier, Nina Ricci, Carolina Herrera

New at OlaraWomen's fragrance5-min read

It's a red-letter day at Olara perfumery: the houses of the Puig group — the Barcelona family giant behind Paco Rabanne, Jean Paul Gaultier, Nina Ricci and Carolina Herrera — are settling into the catalogue. Jean Paul Gaultier makes its entrance with La Favorite, its first major feminine launch in a decade; Carolina Herrera arrives with the iconic Good Girl, stiletto included; and they join Nina Ricci, already a regular at Olara. A guided tour.

1Puig, the Barcelona family that perfumes couture

Founded in Barcelona in 1914 by Antonio Puig and still run by the family of the same name, the Puig group has become one of the world's heavyweights in fragrance and beauty. Its portfolio reads like a runway: Paco Rabanne, Jean Paul Gaultier, Nina Ricci, Carolina Herrera, plus Charlotte Tilbury and Dries Van Noten. From today, Jean Paul Gaultier and Carolina Herrera make their entrance among our women's fragrances, where Nina Ricci is already at home — three very different expressions of the same sense of spectacle.

2La Favorite: Jean Paul Gaultier's big feminine comeback

The event of this autumn 2026, La Favorite is the house's first major feminine launch since Scandal, a decade ago. The composition is signed by Amélie Jacquin and Quentin Bisch — the latter being one of the authors of Scandal, a faithful accomplice of fashion's enfant terrible. Their idea: an amber floral that dares, like the Gaultier woman, between sparkling spices and a nocturnal flower. The bottle is a sensation: a female silhouette sculpted inside the glass itself, an assumed nod to the legendary “Fragile” flacon of 1999. A remarkable entrance among our women's eaux de parfum.

3The olfactory pyramid of La Favorite

La Favorite opens on a spicy, citrusy burst: cinnamon, bitter orange, bergamot and ylang-ylang. Its heart reveals the true star of the formula, the “Queen of the Night” flower, escorted by jasmine, rose and a green touch of juniper. The voluptuous base unrolls benzoin, tonka bean, vanilla, Virginia cedar and white musks — an amber trail that lasts all night long.

Did you know?

The “Queen of the Night” at the heart of La Favorite is a cactus whose large white flower only blooms after dark, for a few hours, before closing forever. In perfumery its creamy, solar scent is recreated by the noses — a mute flower, too ephemeral to be distilled.

4Good Girl: duality according to Carolina Herrera

Another pillar of the Puig group, Carolina Herrera's New York house arrives at Olara with its most famous stiletto. Launched in 2016 and signed by perfumer Louise Turner, Good Girl plays on the “good girl, bad girl” duality: on one side the light of white flowers — tuberose, jasmine sambac —, on the other the gourmand darkness of roasted tonka bean and cocoa. Its midnight-blue stiletto bottle has become one of the most recognisable objects on the fragrance shelf. For those who want to push the dial, Very Good Girl Elixir plunges the saga into darker red fruits and a deeper vanilla — the most intense version of the family, to be found in our Carolina Herrera collection.

5Nina Ricci, the elder already at Olara

The Puig group also has roots in Parisian haute couture: the house of Nina Ricci, which you know well at Olara. Its legend begins in 1948 with L'Air du Temps, composed by perfumer Francis Fabron: a powdery carnation turned monument, crowned by its famous two-dove bottle. It continues today with the Nina saga and its apple bottle, which we covered recently — from the 20th-anniversary pistachio to the lacquered cherry of Rouge Crush. The whole family awaits you in our Nina Ricci collection.

Your questions, answered

What is the Puig group?

A family business founded in Barcelona in 1914 by Antonio Puig, now one of the world leaders in fragrance and beauty. The group brings together Paco Rabanne, Jean Paul Gaultier, Nina Ricci, Carolina Herrera, Charlotte Tilbury and Dries Van Noten, among others.

What are the notes of La Favorite by Jean Paul Gaultier?

Top: cinnamon, bitter orange, bergamot, ylang-ylang and lemon zest. Heart: Queen of the Night flower, jasmine, rose, geranium and juniper. Base: benzoin, tonka bean, vanilla, Virginia cedar and white musks. A spicy amber floral, made for evening as well as day.

Who created La Favorite?

Perfumers Amélie Jacquin and Quentin Bisch of Givaudan. Quentin Bisch is also one of the authors of Jean Paul Gaultier's Scandal — La Favorite is the house's first major feminine launch since that success.

What's the difference between Good Girl and Very Good Girl Elixir?

Good Girl (2016) is the original: white flowers against roasted tonka bean and cocoa. Very Good Girl Elixir pushes the saga towards darker red fruits and a deeper vanilla — the most intense version, ideal for evening.

Are these fragrances available in small sizes?

Yes: La Favorite, Good Girl, Very Good Girl Elixir and L'Air du Temps are all available at Olara in 30 ml bottles — perfect for living with a fragrance before committing to a larger size.
