Essential Parfums lands at Olara: great noses, set free

New at OlaraWomen's fragrance4-min read

Some houses change the rules of the game. Founded in Paris in 2018 by Géraldine Archambault, Essential Parfums gives total creative freedom to the greatest perfumers — Sophie Labbé, Dominique Ropion, Anne Flipo, Olivier Pescheux — built around natural, sustainable raw materials. The whole collection has just arrived at Olara: a guided tour, on the feminine side.

1Essential Parfums, the house that sets noses free

After thirty years in the fragrance industry, Géraldine Archambault founded Essential Parfums in 2018 with a simple, radical idea: give carte blanche to the world's most respected perfumers, with no marketing brief, and proudly print their names on every creation. The Parisian house champions natural, sustainable raw materials — Calabrian bergamot, Madagascar vanilla, sandalwood — and bottles designed to be refilled. The result: a collection of sincere eaux de parfum, signed by true authors, now gathered in our Essential Parfums collection.

2Rose Magnetic: the rose according to Sophie Labbé

If you had to pick just one for her, it would be Rose Magnetic. Its creator, Sophie Labbé, is one of France's great perfumers: she is behind Organza by Givenchy (1996), Jasmin Noir by Bvlgari and Signorina by Salvatore Ferragamo, among others. Here she explores every facet of the queen of flowers: a modern, playful, addictive rose, electrified by bitter grapefruit and fresh mint, softened by lychee and vanilla. A magnetic floral that fully earns its place among our women's fragrances.

Did you know?

At Essential Parfums, the perfumer's name appears on every bottle, like an author's on a book cover. A transparency still rare in perfumery — and a treat for enthusiasts who follow their favourite noses from house to house.

3The olfactory pyramid of Rose Magnetic

Rose Magnetic opens on a lively burst of bitter grapefruit and fresh mint; the heart unfolds a luminous rose made juicy with lychee; the base wraps it all in natural cedarwood, musks and vanilla bean. A trail that starts fresh and turns cosy — perfect for the season, best discovered in the 10 ml size, from our selection of women's eaux de parfum.

4Velvet Iris, Néroli Botanica, Divine Vanille: three more faces of the feminine

The collection reads like a who's who of great noses. Velvet Iris is signed by Dominique Ropion — the Master Perfumer of Portrait of a Lady, to whom we devoted a full portrait: a velvety, woody ode to iris petals. Néroli Botanica bears the signature of Anne Flipo, co-author of La Vie Est Belle: a vibrant orange blossom, spiced with ginger and jasmine sambac. And Divine Vanille, by Olivier Pescheux — the nose behind 1 Million by Paco Rabanne — pays tribute to sustainably harvested Madagascar vanilla absolute. To try everything before choosing, the discovery set gathers the house's creations in 2 ml miniatures — perfect for finding your signature.

Your questions, answered

What is Essential Parfums?

A Parisian niche perfume house founded in 2018 by Géraldine Archambault. Its principle: total freedom for great perfumers, natural and sustainable raw materials, and refillable bottles.

Who created Rose Magnetic?

Sophie Labbé, a renowned French perfumer also behind Organza by Givenchy, Jasmin Noir by Bvlgari and Signorina by Salvatore Ferragamo.

What does Rose Magnetic smell like?

A modern, sparkling rose: bitter grapefruit and fresh mint on top, rose and lychee at heart, cedar, musks and vanilla at the base. Fresh at first, enveloping in the drydown.

Are Essential Parfums fragrances unisex?

Most of the house's creations can be worn beyond gender. In this article we selected the most feminine ones — Rose Magnetic, Velvet Iris, Néroli Botanica, Divine Vanille — but nothing stops you from sharing them.

How to explore the collection without going wrong?

The discovery set gathers the house's eaux de parfum in small 2 ml sizes: ideal for testing each creation on skin before committing to a full bottle — available at Olara.
