Nina Rouge Crush: Nina Ricci's ultra-glossy cherry crush

New at OlaraWomen's fragrance3 min read

An apple bottle dipped in ultra-glossy cherry lacquer, a translucent bite mark, and a trio of perfumers led by Olivier Cresp: with Nina Rouge Crush, Nina Ricci turns the thrill of a crush into an object of desire. The whole Nina family has just arrived at Olara — the perfect moment to decode this fruity ambery floral Eau de Parfum… and to help you choose your Nina.

1A crush called Rouge Crush

Unveiled in 2025 at a Paris pop-up on Boulevard Haussmann entirely devoted to the cherry, Nina Rouge Crush is the boldest chapter of the Nina saga: an Eau de Parfum built like the electricity of a crush, between juicy fruits, a floral bouquet and ambery warmth. The artistic direction bears the signature of Harris Reed, the house's Creative Director, and the face of the campaign is none other than his muse Kiernan Shipka — the American actress who grew up on screen in Mad Men before starring in Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. A vegan formula with 89% natural origin ingredients, available now in our Nina Ricci collection, among our women's fragrances.

2Three noses for one cherry

Master Perfumer Olivier Cresp — one of the great names of modern perfumery, author of Mugler's Angel and of Dolce & Gabbana's Light Blue — composed the fragrance alongside Principal Perfumer Marie Salamagne and Perfumer Ane Ayo. Their score opens on ripe cherry and sparkling raspberry, brightened by a zest of Italian lemon. The heart pairs Damask rose with gardenia, given bite by a touch of Granny Smith apple. The base finally wraps itself in a duo of Bourbon and Tahitensis vanillas warmed by cedarwood — a gourmand trail that never turns cloying, to be found among our women's eaux de parfum.

Did you know?

The lemon in Nina Rouge Crush is upcycled: Italian lemons rejected by the food industry for their size or shape are repurposed in perfumery instead of being discarded — and each fruit is used in its entirety, “from A to Zest”. This conscious gesture has become the signature note of the whole Nina saga.

3The bitten apple, lacquered edition

Since 2006, Nina's apple-shaped bottle has been one of perfumery's most recognisable objects. For Rouge Crush it is dipped in an ultra-glossy cherry-red lacquer, marked with a deep-red translucent bite; a red cord with metal tips dresses the neck. And the box hides a secret: the house once again invited artist Jeanine Brito, a friend of Harris Reed, to paint an exclusive artwork inside, completed by a written message. An object to gift — or to keep — as much as a fragrance to wear.

4Which Nina should you choose?

Twenty years after its birth, the Nina saga now comes in four faces, all available at Olara. Nina Eau de Toilette, the 2006 original, remains the tangy toffee apple that launched the myth. Nina Eau de Parfum, launched for the saga's 20th anniversary, dares an ultra-creamy pistachio — we devoted a whole article to it. Nina Rouge offers a more intense, biting reading of the emblematic apple. And Nina Rouge Crush, the newest of the family, plays the enveloping cherry card: the most gourmand and ambery of the four. Our advice: sweet tooths will head for Rouge Crush or the pistachio, freshness lovers for the original.

Your questions, answered

What are the notes of Nina Rouge Crush?

Top notes of ripe cherry and sparkling raspberry brightened by upcycled Italian lemon; a heart of Damask rose and gardenia with a touch of Granny Smith apple; a base of Bourbon and Tahitensis vanillas over cedarwood. A fruity ambery floral signature.

Who created Nina Rouge Crush?

Master Perfumer Olivier Cresp — also the author of Mugler's Angel and Dolce & Gabbana's Light Blue — composed the fragrance together with Principal Perfumer Marie Salamagne and Perfumer Ane Ayo.

Nina, Nina Rouge or Nina Rouge Crush: what's the difference?

Nina Eau de Toilette (2006) is the original toffee apple, fresh and tangy. Nina Rouge offers a more intense version of it. Nina Rouge Crush, in Eau de Parfum concentration, swaps the apple for cherry and adds an ambery base of vanillas and cedar: the most gourmand and enveloping of the family.

Is Nina Rouge Crush a vegan fragrance?

Yes. The formula is vegan and made with 89% natural origin ingredients, including upcycled Italian lemon from fruit rejected by the food industry. It is available at Olara in 30, 50 and 100 ml.
