He can play anything: the Las Vegas charmer, the writer turned genius, the haunted sniper, the fading rock star. Bradley Cooper, a nine-time Academy Award nominee as actor, writer, director and producer, is — alongside Maluma and Vinicius Junior — one of the faces of Boss Bottled Beyond, Hugo Boss's new ginger-leather eau de parfum. A portrait of charisma in a thousand shades, and a deep dive into the Boss Bottled wardrobe, to discover at Olara perfumery.
1“The Hangover”: the comedy breakthrough
In 2009, Todd Phillips let three groomsmen loose in Las Vegas the morning after a bachelor party nobody remembers. In “The Hangover”, Bradley Cooper stars as Phil Wenneck, a jaded schoolteacher and ringleader of the pack, alongside Zach Galifianakis and Ed Helms. The comedy became a worldwide phenomenon and made his wolfish grin instantly famous; two sequels prolonged the hangover, in 2011 and 2013. Behind the punchlines, already, a solar energy — the same you find in the fresh, magnetic trails of our men's fragrances.
2“Limitless”: the rise of Eddie Morra
In 2011, Neil Burger handed him his first major dramatic lead: Eddie Morra, a blocked writer who discovers, in “Limitless”, a pill that unlocks his brain's full potential. A dizzying ascent, New York penthouses, the vertigo of ambition — and a tense face-off with Robert De Niro. The film established Bradley Cooper as a leading man and sketched what would become his signature: a gleaming surface, an unease underneath. New York, its verticality and electric energy — the very city on our banner — would never leave his cinema.
3“American Sniper”: intensity, Eastwood-style
In 2014, Clint Eastwood entrusted him with the role of Chris Kyle, a Navy SEAL sniper, in “American Sniper”. Barely recognisable, forty pounds of muscle heavier, Bradley Cooper plays it all in contained tension: duty, attrition, the impossible return to civilian life. The film became one of the biggest US box-office hits of 2014 and earned him an Academy Award nomination for Best Actor. Definitive proof that the funnyman of “The Hangover” was, first and foremost, a character actor.
4“A Star Is Born”: the consecration
In 2018, he stepped behind the camera without giving up the lead: in “A Star Is Born”, which he directed, co-wrote and starred in, Bradley Cooper plays Jackson Maine, a rock star in decline who discovers the singer played by Lady Gaga. A gravelly voice honed for months, concerts shot in real conditions: the film was a heartbreaker, earning eight Academy Award nominations and the statuette for Best Original Song for “Shallow”. In 2023, he repeated the feat as director-star with “Maestro”, devoted to conductor Leonard Bernstein. The man of metamorphoses had found his score — all that remained was to compose him a fragrance.
5Boss Bottled Beyond ambassador: ginger and leather
Since 2025, Bradley Cooper has been — with Colombian singer Maluma and Brazilian footballer Vinicius Junior — one of the three global ambassadors of Boss Bottled Beyond, Hugo Boss's new eau de parfum. Its “BOSS Recognize BOSS” campaign celebrates mutual respect between three exceptional paths — film, music, sport — and its launch was celebrated in October 2025 in New York, around the Empire State Building, the one on our banner. The composition unites three perfumers: Daphné Bugey — also the author of Bois Impérial by Essential Parfums —, Frank Voelkl, creator of Le Labo's cult Santal 33, and Bruno Jovanovic. Their idea: a dual-pole duet, fresh ginger extracted with supercritical CO2 against carnal leather, set on a woody base. Clean, vibrant, magnetic — to discover in our Hugo Boss collection.
Did you know?
Boss Bottled, the original, was born in 1998 from the pen of perfumer Annick Menardo — also the author of Lolita Lempicka and Bulgari Black. Its apple-cinnamon-sandalwood accord made it one of the most-worn men's fragrances in the world; Beyond is, twenty-seven years on, its boldest reinvention.
6Which Boss Bottled should he choose?
One backbone, several temperaments. Boss Bottled (1998), as an eau de toilette, remains the original: crisp apple, cinnamon, sandalwood — the well-cut suit of men's perfumery. Boss Bottled Eau de Parfum deepens the trail for the evening, while Bottled Absolu pushes the line to its most concentrated version and Bottled Infinite brightens it with fruity-aromatic freshness. Sharper still, Bottled Bold Citrus electrifies the accord with zesty citrus; rarer, Bottled Elixir condenses it into a parfum intense. Beyond, finally, dares the ginger-leather side-step — down to the 200 ml refill, to make the gesture last. Day to day, the Beyond shower gel extends the trail under water, and the Boss Bottled gift set makes an obvious present. Keen to explore another territory of the house? Boss The Scent plays the spicy seduction card, among our eaux de parfum for men. To understand what these concentrations actually change, our fragrance intensity guide breaks it down — and if brand ambassadors fascinate you, our portraits of Austin Butler, face of YSL's MYSLF, and Tom Holland, face of Prada's Paradigme, complete the series.
