In 2025, Miu Miu launched Miutine, a mischievous gourmand by Dominique Ropion. A year on, Miutine Intense steeps that gourmand spirit in blackberry liqueur: darker, more enveloping, just as playful. The 2026 novelty has just landed at Olara.
1Miutine, Miu Miu's mischievous gourmand
It all began in 2025: with Miutine, the Milanese house opened a new fragrant chapter and entrusted it to Dominique Ropion — one of the greatest perfumers of our time, notably behind the global best-seller La Vie Est Belle by Lancôme, co-created with Anne Flipo and Olivier Polge. His idea: a deliberately strange accord between Mara des Bois strawberry and gardenia, softened with brown sugar and bourbon vanilla. The campaign, fronted by Emma Corrin — unforgettable as Diana in The Crown — set the line's irreverent tone from the start. The whole house is gathered in our Miu Miu collection.
2The pyramid: blackberry liqueur, gardenia, bourbon vanilla
With Miutine Intense, Dominique Ropion swaps the strawberry for a blackberry liqueur: dark fruits macerated to a jammy, almost liqueur-like richness that gives the perfume its deeper character. The heart stays true to the original's radiant gardenia, that great creamy white floral; and the base unfolds a syrupy bourbon vanilla that wraps everything in sweet warmth — without ever turning candy-like. A characterful fruity gourmand, made for evenings and the cooler season.
Did you know?
Gardenia is what perfumers call a "mute flower": like lily of the valley or lilac, it yields virtually no usable essential oil. Its creamy, solar scent is therefore entirely rebuilt in the lab, from facets of jasmine, tuberose and green notes. Every gardenia in perfumery is thus a unique interpretation — Miutine's bears Dominique Ropion's signature.
3Miutine or Miutine Intense: which one to choose?
Both share the same gardenia-vanilla backbone, but they tell different stories. Miutine, with its Mara des Bois strawberry, is the brighter of the two: perfect for every day, from morning on, in spring and summer alike. Miutine Intense darkens the picture with its liqueur-like blackberry: a more enveloping trail, stronger staying power, an evening spirit. If you love sparkling red fruits, stay with the original; if you prefer dark berries and vanilla swirls, Intense is for you. Find them among our women's eaux de parfum and our women's fragrances.
Your questions, answered
What does Miu Miu's Miutine Intense smell like?
A fruity floral gourmand: a dark, jammy blackberry liqueur on top, a creamy gardenia at the heart, and a syrupy bourbon vanilla in the base. Deeper and more enveloping than the original, without being a candy scent.
What is the difference between Miutine and Miutine Intense?
Same gardenia-vanilla duo, but the fruit changes: the original (2025) plays a bright, springlike Mara des Bois strawberry, while Intense (2026) macerates blackberry into a liqueur — darker, longer-lasting, more of an evening scent.
Who created Miutine Intense?
French perfumer Dominique Ropion, one of the most celebrated noses of his generation — he is notably behind Lancôme's La Vie Est Belle, co-created with Anne Flipo and Olivier Polge. He also signed the original 2025 Miutine.
Is Miutine Intense already available?
Yes — launched in 2026, it is available at Olara in three sizes (30, 50 and 100 ml), in limited stock.
