Lancôme's most joyful fragrance saga treats itself to its darkest episode. With Very Cherry, the L'Elixir family bites into dark cherry and wraps itself in oud — a fruity gourmand both playful and sophisticated, already available at Olara.
1La Vie Est Belle, a saga that never stops daring
Since 2012, La Vie Est Belle — fronted from the very start by Julia Roberts and her legendary smile — has been one of the world's best-selling women's fragrances, thanks to its signature gourmand iris. In 2024, the house gave it a more intense side with L'Elixir. Very Cherry, launched in 2026, pushes that audacity one step further: it is the saga's first venture into the much-coveted territory of cherry. The whole range is gathered in our Lancôme collection.
2The pyramid: dark cherry, violet, oud
Very Cherry opens on a decadent dark cherry, juicy with a hint of almond, before a velvety violet leaf brings its powdery freshness. The base surprises: a deep, sensual oud wood that steers the fragrance away from candy territory and anchors it in a grown-up indulgence, with a long, refined trail.
Did you know?
Cherry is one of the rare fruits perfumery cannot extract: it cannot be distilled. Perfumers therefore recreate its scent from scratch, pairing the almond facet of its pit (the famous benzaldehyde) with fruity and woody notes. That's why every “cherry accord” is unique — Very Cherry's plays the dark, liqueur-like card.
3Who is it for, and how to wear it?
Very Cherry is for those who love gourmands… but have outgrown the naive ones: the oud and violet pull the cherry towards the dim light of a cocktail bar rather than the sweet shop. It is the quintessential fragrance for autumn evenings, gorgeous on warm skin and thick fabrics. If you hesitate within the saga: L'Elixir for floral intensity, Vanille Nude for solar softness, Very Cherry for the dark fruit. Find them among our women's eaux de parfum and our women's fragrances.
Your questions, answered
What does La Vie Est Belle Very Cherry smell like?
A fruity-woody gourmand: a juicy, slightly almondy dark cherry on top, a powdery violet leaf at heart, and a sensual oud base that makes the whole dark and sophisticated — far from a candy scent.
How does it differ from La Vie Est Belle L'Elixir?
Same family, different character: L'Elixir (2024) intensifies the original's gourmand iris, while Very Cherry (2026) swaps the iris for the dark cherry-oud duo. Fruitier, darker, more “evening”.
Is it too sweet?
No — that's precisely its signature: the cherry is treated as a liqueur rather than a candy, and the oud brings a woody depth that balances the indulgence. A grown-up sweetness, perfect from autumn onwards.
Is Very Cherry already available?
Yes — launched in 2026, it is available at Olara in three sizes (30, 50 and 100 ml), in limited stock.
